Welcome to our group. We provide a space where sociologists with a shared interest in methods, either mixed or quantitative, can meet, develop ideas and share their research. Sponsored by the Sociological Association of Ireland.
ABOUT US
This group brings together sociologists with a shared interest in quantitative or mixed methods research. This is crucially important given;
– the need to collect with the small (but increasing) number of sociologists who work in this area in Ireland
– an increasing interest in statistical methods by employers, students and the general public in the search for “truth”
– the need to advocate for ease of access to publically funded data in the era of GDPR.
The group provides a space for sociologists to meet, develop ideas, influence policy and share work, experiences and knowledge.
Formed in 2018, the group now has over 50 active members. Recently funded by the Sociological Association of Ireland, we will be hosting various events over the next year including invited speakers and training workshops.
