“Transformations”

In an era of rapid and profound change, societies worldwide are experiencing shifts that challenge our understanding of social structures, relationships, and identities. These transformations do not occur in isolation; instead, they are deeply interconnected, influencing and reshaping each other in complex ways.

Call for Abstracts

The Sociological Association of Ireland (SAI), in partnership with the Technical University of the Shannon (TUS), warmly invites postgraduate students from across Ireland to participate in our annual Postgraduate Conference 2025. Centred around the theme of “Transformations,” this conference aims to foster a rich and inclusive dialogue on the dynamic changes shaping societies today.

We encourage submissions that approach the theme from various perspectives and disciplines, including but not limited to:

• Social and Cultural Shifts
• Technological Innovations and Digital Society
• Environmental Change and Sustainability
• Economic Development and Globalisation
• Political Movements and Policy Reform
• Identity, Diversity, and Inclusion
• Transformations in Education, Health, and Welfare
• Methodological Advances in Sociological Research.

Contributions may include empirical research, theoretical analyses, case studies, or interdisciplinary approaches that shed light on how societies are adapting to and influencing change.

Submission Guidelines

• Abstract Length: Maximum 250 words
• Submission Details: Include your name, institutional affiliation, and contact information.
• Deadline: Submit your abstract by 25 December 2024 to daniel.guigui@ucdconnect.ie

Notification: Acceptance notifications will be sent out by 15 January 2025.
